The forecast for GDP growth in Ukraine is revised upwards


Expected GDP of Ukraine in 2018 year will be 3,2%

The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MERC) has improved the forecast of Ukraine's GDP growth in 2018 year from 3% to 3,2%. The department predicts that the nominal GDP this year will be 3,457 trillion hryvnas, while at the end of 2017 this figure was estimated at the level of 3,332 trillion hryvnias. Forecast of the producer price index growth on the basis of this year's increase from 10,3% to 11,9%.

By the end of the 2018 year, the cessation of the negative factors of the beginning of the year, which has affected certain types of economic activity, the preservation of positive economic, consumer and investment sentiment is anticipated against the backdrop of continued implementation of the reforms announced by the government, the preservation of a favorable foreign economic situation, further diversification of the markets Ukrainian products, which will result in the continuation of positive economic dynamics at the level of 3,2% of GDP growth, - it is indicated in the document submitted for consideration by the Cabinet of Ministers on asidanni Wednesday.

  • The MERC also changed the forecast for salary growth from 9,6% to 10,5%, the forecast for the growth of exports of goods and services - from 4% to 8,1%, imports of goods and services - from 6,3% to 9,9%.

    In its forecasts, MERC refers to refined forecasts of international financial organizations (IMF, World Bank) and obtained statistics for the first quarter.
