Corn, or maisa, as it was called ancient Maya - Indians equated to a deity, it was worshiped as a sacred plant.

In honor of maisi they arranged magnificent celebrations. This is evidenced by the figures of gods and goddesses with cobs of corn in their hands, as well as Aztec and Mayan drawings.

In our times, people no longer give corn the properties of God, as it once was. However, this culture in the modern world has the widest application in various branches of industry, agriculture, cooking and medicine.
